AltspaceVR - Act 1 Ranger Script

Location: Conference Room

 

Use this script to support you as you lead Act 1 in One Accenture Park.

*Note - Confirm the AltspaceVR support model being used in this NJX session.

ACT 1 RANGER SCRIPT

 

Say: Welcome to the One Accenture Park conference room! I’m happy and excited to be here with you!

 

First, you are going to customize your avatar and then learn how to move around and interact.

 

Let’s start by creating an Avatar that feels like you! Have fun with this.

 

Press ESC on your keyboard, then along with the menu at the bottom of your screen, click ME, and then, customize avatar. We’re going to spend the next 10 minutes doing this, so please, get creative and show your personality.

 

 

Do:   Monitor the time and the avatars in the room as their avatars change. Encourage them to change their avatar’s default settings (the blue polka dot shirt). As you notice the avatars beginning to move around (signifying joiners are done customizing their avatars) encourage them go over to the mirror to see how they look. 10 minutes total.

Say: Next, let’s learn how to move in AltspaceVR.

With your left hand, put your middle finger on the W key and your ring and index fingers on the A and D keys, respectively. Pressing W will move you forward, A and D side-to-side and S will move you backward.

 

To help you, we’ve displayed these instructions on the wall for you to see. You can also use your arrow keys to move your avatar.

Next, moving your mouse or trackpad allows you to look around.

There are a couple options if you want to move a little faster. To run, hold down the shift key, and if you want to take a big jump, holding down the F key, pointing the blue arc to where you’d like to go, and then letting go of the F key, allows you to teleport. 

 

I want to call out a couple of fun things for you to check out while you’re moving about the conference room. If you look to the front corner of the conference room, you’ll notice this large purple, Greater than button. Look out for these interactive buttons located throughout the whole of One Accenture Park. We use these to share important information – so don’t forget to click on them. Just a quick note, once you select Ok to close the pop-up window, you will then need to right-click on your screen to engage your avatar.

 

Next, we have a challenge for you. We’ve hidden an Accenture teddy bear somewhere here in the conference room. So, as you practice moving in this virtual world, take a minute to find the Accenture bear and don’t forget to click on the button to get more information. Once you’ve finished, head to the back of the room and stand behind the chairs.

 

Do:  Give joiners a minute or two to find the teddy bear and interact with the button, then remind them to line up behind the chairs for a group picture. Once they are lined up, encourage them to use the emoji keys 1-6 for the picture.  Let them practice a bit and let them know emoji’s 1, 3, and 6 are your favorites (those are the ones that look the best in pictures). Snap a group picture using the camera feature (right-click to access the menu then select the camera icon on the bottom left of the menu). Let them know you will post it in the chat later.

Say: Congratulations, you’re doing a great job!

This time in One Accenture Park reflects who we are as One Accenture. It’s all about social connection, networking, collaboration and working in more immersive ways across multiple locations. You will revisit the AltspaceVR virtual world multiple times throughout your new joiner experience and throughout your first year with Accenture. So now that you have practiced moving about, let’s get a little more social!

 

Make sure you still have your headphones connected and then press your spacebar once to unmute yourselves. Then make your way around the conference room for the next few minutes introducing yourself to as many people as possible and see if you can find any shared interests and hobbies. If you’re wondering who someone is, point the blue cursor at them and click to see their name.

 

If at any point you have technical issues, please use the teams chat to reach out for help.

Do:   For session not delivered in English, mention the Red-hat in-                world support.

For session delivered in English, encourage new joiners to reach out to their fellow new joiners to   ask for help or offer it.

Allow joiners to meet other joiners for 3 minutes.

 Say: Hope you had fun and feel more connected. Now, let’s go explore One Accenture Park! Follow me now as we begin making our way out of this conference room and into One                         Accenture Park.

 

 

Do:      Lead joiners out of the conference room and into One Accenture Park, encourage them to gather around you.

 

 

Say:      Welcome to One Accenture Park. Let me help familiarize you with what you are seeing.  As you look around, everything you see is part of our One Accenture Park. We are currently on the top level right now and we call this the Atrium. If you look out past me, you can see the Atrium waterfall that greets all who enter One Accenture Park. While it is a beautiful and welcoming sight, it also will help keep you oriented since it sits in the middle of the upper and lower levels of the park. Just like the real world, signage will also help you navigate to specific locations.

 

Do:      Move your avatar to the sign with the map of the park.

Say:      This sign shows you how One Accenture Park is laid out. For instance, you can see we are right here between the Accenture conference room in the Atrium of One Accenture Park. If you peek over the banister, you can see the lower level of the One Accenture Park. This level is called NJXpo and introduces key topics that will support your success at Accenture. At this point, NJXpo continues to grow, providing you with a great reason to meet up with your Start Group members and return to NJXpo throughout your first year.

 

Now that you have the basic layout, let’s all meet on the far side of the waterfall next. You can follow me there, or you can run by using the shift key or the teleport feature, the F key and mouse click. Let’s go.

 

 

Do:      Move your avatar to the far side of the waterfall. Encourage joiners to gather on the far side of the waterfall again.

 

 Say:      If you look past me, on the horizon you can see four, One Accenture Park pavilions, designed to introduce you to more of what Accenture does. These pavilions, Imagination Plaza, Ingenuity Tower, Cloud Island and Aqua Laboratory are currently under construction and will be available for you to visit soon.

 

As you wander around the Atrium, keep an eye out for the ramps leading down to the lower level. There are two ramps, one to your left, right here, and one located off to the right.

 

In a minute, I am going to send you off to explore the rest of the Atrium and NJXpo. Just so you know, we have hidden 12 Accenture teddy bears around One Accenture Park. Your job is to explore, find the bears and note their locations.  So, grab a friend or two and explore together to see how many bears you can find. Take a selfie or group picture with them and we will use them in an activity when you return to the main room. If you have time, gather at the coffee bar on the lower level and chat with each other.

 

Quick clue, right-clicking your mouse or trackpad displays a helpful onscreen menu for taking pictures and page 25 in your NJX Companion has some helpful tips for taking pics. When we get back to our Teams meeting, we’ll see who found the most bears and share your pictures.
